Preguntas Frecuentes
How, when, who and what
Below are some questions that are frequently asked about Language Travel. If you have additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to call your local sales office.
Ask us a question
How is a
typical EF lesson made up?
EF's lessons focus
on the four main language disciplines of
reading, writing, speaking and listening. Our
aim is to give you confidence in using the
language in everyday situations. Teaching
takes place in small study groups allowing
maximum interaction between teacher and
students to encourage a quicker rate of
progress. Normally classes are held in the
morning, but some courses may involve
afternoon classes.

Will I get my
own tuition book?
Yes. EF has
developed its own range of educational
materials, created by our experienced
pedagogical council and recognized academic
authors. All teaching materials are tailored
to each host country and have been developed
for all levels of language ability.
top
Can I live
together with a friend in a host family?
It may be possible to live with a fellow student from your own nationality. You may enjoy the company and be able to help each other with your language lessons.
top
Will I get my
own room?
Usually students
share rooms with one or two other students of
the same sex.
top
How do you
select your host families?
EF works hard to
find welcoming host families who are suitable
to take international students into their
homes. EF staff visit all families to assess
the comfort of their home, and to interview
the host parents. Many of our families choose
to host EF students year after year as they
enjoy the international experience and
cultural exchange so much. Students who
return abroad to study with EF again often
ask to stay with the same family as previous
years, and can build a unique bond of
friendship.

Can I change
host family?
In the unlikely
event of you wishing to change your
host family on arrival, we will try to help
you as quickly as possible.
top
Will the host
family have children of their own?
Many families do
have children, but not all of them.
top
How is the
accommodation in a residential center?
You will usually share a room with other students. Depending on your choice of destination, you might share with one up to five other students of the same sex in a dormitory. You will also share a bathroom with other EF students.
top
What qualifications do my teachers have?
All EF teachers are experienced professionals who are
educated to degree standard. Many teachers
work for EF year after year as they find the
experience of teaching international students
so rewarding. Together you and the EF staff
will experience a lot, from language lessons
to sports tournaments – they will soon become
friends as well as teachers.
top
Will there be
teachers who speak my language on my trip?
We make sure that every EF trip is accompanied by at least one group leader from your home country who speaks your language. Your teachers will also be able to speak your language. Remember, though, the more of your study language you speak, the more progress you will make.
