Regional Finance Manager, Latin America

Product:

EF Finance

Location

Mexico City, Mexico or Sao Paolo, Brazil

Synopsis:

Prepare for a global CFO role working in a demanding and potentially rewarding region.

The Role

Within the next three years our aim is to double our business in Latin America from the 8 markets in which we currently operate. Finance Managers within EF are critical to EF’s continuous performance and growth. In your role as Regional Finance Manager Latin America, you will build and develop teams throughout the region, working alongside country managers to set the company’s direction and build a long-term business. You will be based in Mexico City or São Paulo, reporting to the CFO for Europe and Latin America.

Most of EF’s products are offered in the region. Recently, there has been a strong growth in the Language Travel Abroad products but several of the Local Language products have also increased their investment in the region and are growing rapidly. Further, the business-to-business product “Corporate Language Training”, is growing in importance. Around 250 persons are today employed by EF in Latin America.

As the Regional Finance Manager, Latin America, you will be responsible for all statutory and group requirements in terms of accounting and internal control. Further, you will be responsible for all legal aspects of the operations such as compliance with local and national requirements. Your role is to facilitate cooperation between the products we market and sell in the region and to ensure knowledge, best practices and resources are shared where suitable.

The operations in the different countries are a mix of established teams and start up offices. This means that you will have to handle issues on very different levels. It will be a natural part of the job to switch from a long term strategic point of view to a very hands-on situation and focus on operational issues. As the business and the scope of the organization are growing rapidly, a major challenge in this key position will be to develop the Finance Teams and grow the people in them.

Your responsibilities will encompass accounting, budgeting, tax, legal as well as financial analysis. You will also implement process ownership for legal and operational reporting, and conduct business reviews.

The Regional Finance Manager Latin America will have a central role in taking EF in the region to the next level. There is already a core Finance Team with high competence and motivation in the countries where EF is currently present.

By working across a number of disciplines you will gain insight into a fast-growing, international business in one of the world’s most dynamic regions, influencing its development and growth.
